My fiance was walking while talking and holding his pet turkey, and he walked down to the pond. Then before I know it, he's hollering for me something about ducks.. First thought that went through my mind was either there was a flock of Mallards on the pond or someone dumped a Pekin duck. I get there and on the shore looking at us like "What? Never see a duck before?" was a beautiful 'scovy drake. Attempted to herd him into the barn, no luck, he spooked back to the pond. Sooooo, I ran my temporary chicken pasture fence as close to the pond as possible and laid in on the ground. So tomorrow, I'm hoping to lure him onto the land and then herd him towards the barn and past the end of the fence.. Once past the fence, I'm hoping to pick it up and walk it around him.. Kind of circling him and try to herd him into a wire crate. I figure the little guy can get a good wing clipping and be turned back loose on the pond where he's wanted.. So he doesn't end up in Florida where they're driving people crazy. Wish me luck!!!
Quote:Yep thats what he needs . I have 3 hens setting on eggs and they should hatch any day let me know if you want some. The hens are chocolate and white ripple, and plain white. The drakes are black and white, and chocolate and white ripple. So you will get pure and mixes,
I am in NC. Located just outside Fayetteville, to be precise. Good luck on hatching and I'll consider the offer! -Kim
