A friend of mine called me one morning and said she purchased some chickens at the local Ace Hardware and was keeping them in her garage and her husband said they had to go. I already had six Wyndotte hens and a rooster so I said sure. Does anybody know what breed they are? (I know that the black one is a rooster) She told me they were all the same breed... but I am not even sure of that, any help would be appreciated.

The 2 tan colored look like buff orpingtons. From the photo it doesn't look like they have really large white lobes. If they do, they're buff minorcas. My BO's are crazy!

Oh you are right on with the barred rock for the black and white ones...spitting image from all the pics I can see....but what about the orange ones? do barred rocks come in orange? Those look like dead ringers for the buff orpingtons.....any thoughts?

thank you for the lobe clarification...no the lobe seems small to me, not really that large at all.
