These aren't americuanas, are they?

    Got these girls from efowl.com in April and i don't think they are colored right to be americuanas..Please give me your opinions,

    with a black head and golden tips...

    I think they are ameraucana's but may not be a recognized color. They look like an ameraucana to me though.

    They look like easter eggers. They are what hatcheries call ameracuanas but don't meet the ameracuana standard. They are usually muffed and bearded, with green legs and could lay blue, green, pinkish, brown, etc. Yours are very pretty girls.

    yea i don't think chicken hawks colors are right and another question...will the egg pigment change they are laying just plain yellow...thanks for the response

    one of my others has kinda the same coloring as him

    Very pretty roo i wish i had gotten a roo out of my batch

    I don't think the egg pigment changes. If anything, I think it gets lighter as they age. Post a pic of the yellow eggs, that sounds cool!

    I think she is reffering to the yokes. They should always be some yellow color. The shells are what are different colors.
