We have one week old baby chicks and we are keeping them in a kennel for the time being... good ventilation, wire so the heat lamp doesn't catch anything on fire, easy to clean... good idea! NOT!!! Today, the chicks have disovered that they fit through the slots and the chicks go in and the chicks go out. We chased them for a bit and then worked on a solution. If they don't get their act together, they may become chicken stew instead of egg layers!!!

Cute kids and story. We bought a galvanized tub that is about 3 3 feet tall. The problem we have each time is they "test" their wings and try to get out. I have to cover it with chicken wire to keep them in.

Cardboard worked for us, just cut to fit and put it around on the inside about 6 or 8 inches tall.

Try not to to leave any gaps or they will discover their next form of entertainment, which will be kicking their litter out all over the floor.

Ooh, and we were able to put little roosts across, resting on the bars of the cage. They liked that alot.
