I posted to a facebook group and they think its a rhode island red. I’m also wonder about the gender. The tail is pretty long, but mostly straight. 12 weeks old

I’ve been thinking the same, my buff orpington started crowing this week .I think that you have a rhode island red cockerel. You can tell by the pointy feathers coming in at the shoulders and the base of the tail. An americauna is not a breed, it is a word often used by people selling easter eggers that want you to think that they are Amaraucanas.
Oh no! Are you allowed to have roosters where you live?I’ve been thinking the same, my buff orpington started crowing this week .
nope, I have to rehome. I found a good home for buffy, I hope I can find one for this guy if he starts crowingOh no! Are you allowed to have roosters where you live?
Yeh, I’ll keep and eye and and ear on it haha. This one is super skittish and wants nothing to do with me hahaWelcome!
He is a handsome cockerel, definitely not who you were planning to have though.
Mary
