Here are the girls, and they want the crack now!
Pretty hens, but the one on the upper right looks like she's getting ready to dirty the cement.
I do spend a lot of time washing DH's cement. The pots of plants make the worst stains.
"Give us the crack NOW or we'll destroy the rest of the fuschias!"
What is their "crack"?
Quote:Scratch is the universal chicken "crack".
What a cute bunch of crack heads!
Some of my chickens will eat anything they perceive as food, and a few are quite picky. Their "crack" is grapes and leafy greens! My Top Hen, a barred Plymouth Rock, will actually turn her tail at scratch if she isn't hungry. She looks at me like, "Where's the good stuff?" She is the first to jump on grapes and greens!
have you ever had hens turn up their noses at kiwi? Mine did this morning... It was odd.
Dried mealworms is my girls' "crack". They will hunt me down and swarm me if they think I have some on me. It's best not to go on the patio when they are free ranging without a cup of the worms. Once they get them, they are fine and go on their merry way. But if they even think you may be holding out... they will take you down!
