I expected a late hatch as I've had some lower bator temps this round- but out of 40 eggs, 16 were "duds" (new male, not sure of his 'aim' lol) and as of this morning I have 12 that have hatched and are SO active and hopping around exploring! [IMG] I can't wait to see how many I get- but 12 strong ones out of 24 viable gives me a 50% hatch rate so far, and today is day 17 [IMG] I'm uploading some photos now- was too excited to wait to post up! I think the CAGE FREE sign behind them running around the incubator is too cute.

I've been asking my friends to donate old eggs cartons to me from their store bought eggs- and those cartons are my favorite that say "cage free eggs" on the back [IMG] Since I didn't have a ton of eggs to put in the bator I filled a few of those cartons with sand to help hold the heat. It worked quite well!

thanks everyone- they are just the most adorable little things ever [IMG] I can't wait to go home after work and hang out with them!

  9. Soooooooooo cute. Can't wait till my buttons hatch. I hope I am as lucky as you with the birth rate.
