They're here! plus I had to laugh!

I have been lurking/reading for a while, and was going to go in on an order with a friend. She's having barn issues, however, and I found a place locally where I could buy just a few chicks. So here they are - they are all Barred Rocks.

I had to laugh at swampducks' recent post about how they look dead when they sleep! Although I just got them yesterday, I saw mine do the same thing, scared the crap out of me until I saw that post! ha ha!

Right now they're in the standard Rubbermaid-tote-turned-brooder which appears to be working just fine. Can't decide whether to call it "The Salon" with its tanning bed or "The Red Light District."

Congratulations! Looks like a healthy bunch of chicks. We went through the same thing with our chicks. I remember tapping on the brooder to see if they were still alive.

congrats on those babies! Don't you just love those barred rocks? I have some and they are already 8 weeks old and striping so nice. They are some of the friendliest that I have and definatleyond of my favorites. My husband calls them little penguins. Trudy
