I have three different kinds of beautiful chickens and am very new to this chicken and the eggs. All are doing or seem to be doing well but my brahma bantams they seem healthy not sick that I know of and are around 5 to 6 mons old . Their eggs are supposed to be smaller and they are but they are very thinned shelled and have cracks as soon as they are layed . The other hens are about the same age and are all tho a different breed their shells are hard, all are feed laying mesh and we add some oyster shell to there diet also . Is there something I'm overlooking or is this normal? for the first eggs

Sometimes first eggs are thin. Make sure there is plenty of padding in the nest boxes, that might help with the cracking. Collect the eggs often so they don't bang into each other. And, if they crack, clean them up all the way so they don't learn to eat them.
