The winter solstice becomes a celebration. Days are getting longer now.
I was thinking that same thing today...... Days are going to be getting longer.... :O)
Quote:As I understand it the Winter Solstice marks the longest night of the year. I could be mistaken.
Yes, the shortest day. Least daylight hours...... Chickens spend less time eating, more time sleeping. Forget to lay eggs. (kidding of course).
And hopefully my girls will start up again from their molts!
Quote:Who da thunk it Back in my teenage years (feels like forever ago) I welcomed the loooong nights.
Things that change when you have chickens?
For me, I know I'm happier when I have chickens.
Quote:2X i love my birds and i am happier when i am with them too <3
Healthier me from better eggs!
and can tell you that there is MUCH more chicken poop in the house then their used to be.......
I have become far more tolerant of icky things. Not sure of that's a bad or a good thing..... But when a chicken poops on my shoe (or lap), I check to see if it's a normal one, and if it is, I am happy. No biggie - it wipes off and/or washes out.
