Think I got duped americauna fake!

    I got four chicks that were sold as americauna chicks. I didn't look for the tufts which was my fault but I'm wondering what breed these three week old chicks are? I kinda think maybe speckled Sussex? [​IMG]

    They look more like Gold Laced Wynndottes.

    I agree. That is GLW coloring on a chick and rose combs, too.


    By the way, Ameraucanas have beards and muffs, not ear tufts. Araucanas have ear tufts, a completely different thing. Unless you got a bird from a breeder of true Ameraucanas, you're about 95% likely to have an Easter Egger anyway.

    The Wyandottes won't lay blue or green eggs, but they're nice eye candy and good backyard birds.

    That is very true. I've had silver laced and gold laced. Very pretty hens.

    About 8 weeks they should have their adult pattern, pretty much.
