i have a barred rock that came from a hatchery, got her from a farm implement store , anyway,
she has very short wing feathers , huge legs and feet ( named her Squatch lol ) a tuft of feathers that stick straight up on the back of her head ,a really long neck, and just stange feather quality. luv her the same, just she is all together diff from my other barred rock
so what do you think ?

If she's got big legs and feet, she could very well be a he. I had some barred rocks earlier in the year, and all the cockerels did have much fatter legs than the 1 pullet pretty early on. I didn't notice any weird feather quality, though; mine all had normal feathering and no crests/tufts.

I'm thinking roo too! Because I've noticed alot of the time, some of my male chicks were very slow to feather, and had large feet and legs......

Oh, we'd love to see a pic!

6chicks&aduck :

i also think i have a buff rock and a buff orp ,how do i tell the difference?

If there from a hatchery, the only difference is leg color.
Orpingtons have Pinkish/ White Legs
Rocks have Yellow.
