So I'm thinking about getting a hen or two with obsessive broodiness. Opinions on breeds from any of ya'll? I have all bantam breeds with the exception of hoping to get some decent Lakenvelder eggs soon. I will need a broody hen that can set small eggs. My only experience with broodies was a splash cochin I had as a teenager and I remember her hatching babies on occasion but I don't remember her being a crazy broody. Just need a big, warm, fluffy hen that wants to be a mama bad!

My only experience with broody hens would have have to be Silkies!!! Mine go broody about every 2 to 3 weeks if they aren't allowed to sit on eggs. I finally gave up and give them some eggs.... LOL

The old english game hens are also very broody. Even the large fowl birds are small enough they would be fine with bantam babies.
