So this chicken showed up one day and it's been nearly 2 weeks. It pretty much took over the yard. We feed it scraps and water. But it's mostly eating bugs or whatever from the dirt.

It looks young, but I have no idea if it's a hen or a rooster

Looks cockerel to me also, Glad to joined us when he gets a bit comfortable you probably need to get him a few girlfriends birds are happier if they have friends great photos
 
So if you have any other males around that you want to keep get rid of him or them or pen them separately as he will fight non stop against another male once hes hormones hit if he's pretty game. Even game hens unless raised together will fight non stop.

Keeping gamefowl is awhole different world but a promising and fullfilling one.
