This City Girl's No Chicken!

I'm starting! I'm finally fulfilling my dream of having beautiful chickens roaming around my backyard!

I've built the coop. Now all I need is chickens.

Herein lies the rub. Can anyone help me pick out my chickies!? I have a few criteria, and I hope that someone will be able to recommend a breed or two or three for me.

I want pretty chickens. Freaky chickens.

I want pullets. No roosters allowed in Burbank, CA, and I don't think I'm ready to deal with baby chicklets.

I want pretty eggs. Blue. Green. Brown. Fuchsia. Paisley.

No mean chickens! They're going to be pets! Gets along well with others, Pets OK, enjoys long walks on the beach.

Last, I simply can't do 25 chickens. 3 or 4 is probably my limit, knowing that I'll cave in and get more in the future. For now, I have to start with a small flock so that I can learn the ropes.

Well barred rocks and new hampshire reds lay brown eggs. And Easter Eggers lay blue green and I think a light pink. And Marans have really dark chocolate colored eggs. Maybe that gives you an idea.
