I hatched 5 chicks out in an incubator. Two turned out pretty brownish and and three are white. They are now 2 1/2 weeks old and we have already confirmed one as a roo, he tried to crow. This little one is everyone's favorite, including me, my parents, sister and grandparents, so please tell me its a girl! Is it a girl? Thanks in advance for your help!

I am a newbie to this and I'm sure someone will jump all over this as a generalization, but here are my two cents. I had a big order from MMH last early this year, and my "free exotic" chick was a roo. The only difference that early I could see in him was that his wings were shorter than all the girls. Your little one has longer wings, so it makes me think girl.

My hatch is 3 weeks tomorrow. My marans are already showing pink combs and wattles.
Some breeds can be feathered sex with wings and tails.
Some are color sexed.

I too agree that the op's picture is looking like a pullet.
