I was researching chicken breeds online were I used to work. This was about a year ago, way before I actually got chickens. I said to the girl I worked with, "Look this breed lays blue eggs". She said, "They don't just lay colored eggs naturally, you have to give them special feed that dyes the egg while it's inside of them. There's no different breeds that lay different color eggs, there's only about 5 breeds of chicken anyway. And you have to make sure you get a rooster or you won't get any eggs."
I just rolled my eyes. No point in arguing right.

The funniest part, this girl was more country than me!!! And I'm pretty country.

Hey ladies, give me a little break. Before coming to this list and getting involved, this New York (born) girl didn't know ANYTHING about chickens! Now I have 4. I'm learning however. Living in Los Angeles in the city while growing up, animals were dogs, cats, and what we saw at the zoo. Chickens were Sunday dinner, and colored eggs were Easter basket filler! Carry on girls, I do love this list!
