Fireball was hatched from fresh eggs I'd gotten from friend. Any idea the breed or breeds he is. I thought Buff at first but he is such a bright

    Hi Just.....

Congratulations on your success with home made incubator.
My guess is if the person you got eggs from doesn't focus on one particular breed...your rooster is a mix of some breeds..often called a 'barnyard mix' or a 'mixed breed'. Big comb makes me think of Leghorn like a buff Leghorn is in there, and orangey-red makes me think of New Hampshire which is a fairly frequently seen breed. White legs...dunno where those came from.

Perhaps you could ask the person that supplied the eggs what roosters they have ...and which hens and you could get more accurate information.

Was told he had a buff rooster over a mix of hens. I was tryn to figure out what breed has such a bright orange color

He looks like he's maybe a New Hampshire Red or possibly a mixed breed.

I'll bet if the sire was a buff orp the momma was a red hen of some type. That cross seems to make bright orange birds.

He looks like an Orpington mix to me.
