Do you know anything about where he came from? He could be something like a Production Red or hatchery New Hampshire Red.

He is without a doubt a boy! Hope that's what you were wanting! And he looks kinda like a NHR!

His body type reminds me of a cornish cross, and with being about 9 weeks, supposedly, I would say red broiler type chicken.

I bought him in a "package" with all the others. Straight run, heavier all brown egg layers. BUT they lied a tad, as I got lots of EE!

This is the list of what could be included:

    Production Red
    Rhode Island Red
    Barred Rock
    Black Australorp
    Black sex link
    Buff Orpington
    White Rock
    Silver laced Wyandotte
    Gold Star/Red sex link
    Americana

Missed the part that he was only about 9-10 weeks old, red meat bird like Red Ranger etc is a good guess.

Oops. I forgot to mention I know he is a boy. He has the cutest teenage crow to him.

Production Red is about the only thing on that list I'd go with, he is awful light colored even for a hatchery RIR ... did they by chance give you a free chick or meal maker etc?

I have no idea, I think their package is everything they have left over and nobody else wanted. They do give a good count on the chicks. BUT the variation in growth rate and size is amazing.

They say the assortment may include those I listed and others.
