So, recently received my newest batch of fuzzy peeps from Cackle, one of which was the Barred Old English Game pullet I ordered. They so kindly threw in an extra Barred OEGB with yellow ink (my babies were color-coded by variety) marking the characteristic head spot on barred chicks. Or thus I thought? So far she isn't feathering in barred at all like her sister, rather a lovely black....
I've never seen a black chick with a head spot before. Is this a mutation that can pop up within barred birdies? And if so, would it mean she can't be auto-sexed? Just curious, that's all.
Thanks!

Almost reminds me of a mix between black and barred down color.

Any idea what breeds you're leaning towards?
Thanks for the help, guys!
