one of my chick was sleeping and it stood up ( i think it heard me going to check on it ) then stuck its neck out high and far, then its neck looked like it was gurgling. what is he doing!?

update::: imagine a chick's neck "bubbling" also it made no noise. chick in question is 5 days old. For the record, said chick is adorable.

double update::: i know your reading this!! anybody!?

Sounds like a strange one, Ray, perhaps you could re-post this in the section of the forums about injuries and ailments, maybe someone browsing there might be familiar with your chick's problem.

    practicing a crow?

I wouldn't worry, unless it keeps doing it or shows any signs of illness.

I've seen my chicks do that, at first I thought it as strange, but they all do it and seem to be fine. Hope you find an answer.

The crop is where the food goes before its ground up by the gizzard. If you pick one of your birds up and rub their chest you should be able to feel the crop (unless they haven't eaten anything, like first thing in the morning). The crop will be hard and lumpy like the feed they eat.
