If you are like me you have saved every little scrap from every quilt or sewing project you have ever worked on, absolutely sure you would find a use for them. I have accumulated a rubbermaid tub plus 2 bags full and still had no clue what to do with them, as I knew working with all of those teeny tiny bits would drive me nuts if I were to try and piece them.

I found this really cool blog about a Ticker Tape quilt that uses all of those little scraps and quilts itself as you go. This is a link to see what it looks like and her super simple tutorial:

Here's another link, with a better tutorial:

I am already planning mine! I am thinking that I may use squares, triangles and circles as well as rectangles. The end result will be a quilt full of memories from all of those other projects and the satisfaction of knowing that you made a beautiful keepsake out of "trash!"

If anyone has already made one, I'd LOVE to see it! Please post a picture!

I really love that idea! I have been holding onto my scraps, unsure of what to do with them. Hopefully a few more quilts down the road I can think about trying one of these! Thanks for sharing!!

My 9 yr old DD made one of these this year and we entered it into the fair and she won reserve champion Jr with it!

There is a Ticker Tape group on Flickr which shows a bunch of these all done by different folks. http://www.flickr.com/groups/[email protected]/pool/with/4664126932

    Very
fun to see! I wanna make my own now! Actually DD like hers so much she wants to make a bigger one to enter into fair next year!
