Is there a chance you can invest in some smaller zip ties? Like the small thin ones @casportpony pictured.

Why?

Guineas get big enough that even the big size shouldn't bother them, and any size causes about the same kind of damage if it gets too tight.

I guess your right, I guess I was thinking about low profile, but haven't had Guinea's so I could easily be wrong.

IMO, those ties are too big for chicks.

With my chicks I start out with the thin 4" ones. Once they get to about a pound I can switch them to the 8" ones.

These look like the heavy duty ones I have, which are quite heavy. I've used these before, but only on adults.

Same here, and they work just fine for older birds too.
4" are all I use, has worked fine for 8 years.
