Timber Wolf!

I lost my beautiful Golden Laced Wyandotte to a timber wolf at 8:30 am. She must have been protecting her sisters as she made a real ruckus. I saw the wolf carry her away. A very sad day! I feel positively violated. Now I'm worried to let any of my girls free range and kept them in the coop and run all day.

What area are you in? Are wolves protected where you are?
Can you get a hot wire set up on the coop/run? I think she will be back.
