Okay, so I did a search, but can't find anything that quite matches my question. I have a Polish crested rooster who is about 6-7 months old, along with 7 girls his same age, and 5 adult hens. He came to me missing the majority of his crown feathers due to the other adult rooster where he had lived. He has yet to grow more than one or 2 noticeable new feathers. I have had him about 2 months. I keep thinking his head looks like new ones coming in... I can see little pin like sticks on his head. But then the next day or so, they seem to do nothing, or even seem smaller. Are the hens all picking/preening his feathers off as they come in? Or do the feathers just take months and months to come in? And if I have to separate him- how long will it be for, and will be he accepted easily back in because he is a rooster? Thanks!
