Time to Integrate? Pics & Vids of Set Up

Pics & video of set up included. Currently 6 laying hens & 2 Roosters. Coup is 75sq. ft. with 20 linear feet of top roosting pole.

I have 6 youngsters that are 8-9 weeks (3 Auricauna, 1 Bantam, 2 Wellsummer). Established hens are a mix (leghorn, Wyandotte, Easter Egger, Australorp).

Also have 2 Roosters (leghorn & Welsummer)

My young chickens are separated within the coop and have been in there for a few weeks. They can see and interact but it’s a no touch setup. They are 8-9 weeks old.

Yea, those are ready to integrate. I'd keep an eye on things just to be safe, but I expect no issues since they've been interacting through the fence this whole time.

@Battlepants - Thank you! Do you think the roosters will be a problem with youngsters? We got the roosters 2 weeks ago. They were raised together and so far pretty easy going.

I'd expect the roosters to be fine. The youngsters may try to start some trouble with them, but quickly get put in their place. In my experience, pecking order (especially between rooster and hen) gets established pretty quickly and without injury.

If you want a safety fallback, you could try to set up a retreat area for your youngsters where your rooster can't fit. My go-to for this is a cat carrier.

@Battlepants - Thanks, I’ll give it a go this weekend while I have the time to watch. I cut a wire door at the bottom of that partition, I can just make it smaller to allow them out & inn but keep the big ones out. That will give them a refuge the first week or so.
May leave the partition there but just open after that. I’d like to add 3-4 Marans but will hen to mail order those.
