Tip of beak broken off

Hi All,

I need some information on chicken beaks. I have a 9 week old (likely cockerel) and I noticed today the tip of his top beak has broken off. He appears to be eating fine. Is this common? Does the beak grow back? Any concerns or things to look out for? He is with four other hens all hatched together.

That happened to a hen of mine. As long as it's not bleeding, he will be fine. It will grow back.

Thanks, Carri. No bleeding and it looks like it was a small portion of the tip. Hope he doesn't lose any more.
