To All Who've Asked Me for BBS Orpington Eggs....

I've received so many requests for Blue/Black/Splash Orpington eggs in the last two weeks that I'm compelled to post this announcement. Unless I am able to put a couple in an order of Barred Rock eggs as extras, I cannot fill any orders for BBS Orpington hatching eggs. Since losing Velvet suddenly and deciding not to use Delilah for breeding at all, it made it impossible to do. I have only Skye and she is molting heavily, therefore not laying well at the moment, even if one hen could fill an order for me. I have two 12 week old pullets coming up in the ranks, so by spring, perhaps I can ship BBS eggs again. Sorry! And thanks for your patience!

Sorry to disappoint you, Jared, and everyone else, but you can see how it really isnt a good situation at the moment. I want everyone who gets eggs from me to have a great chance for a great hatch...cant do that with just 4 or 5 eggs, if I could even get that many from one badly molting hen in 4 or 5 days.

Sorry to hear that you are having troubles Cyn. Hopefully things will work out for you. If I had ANYTHING at the moment I could send you to help you out I would for sure. I'm crossing my fingers for spring for you and me both.

Thanks for the thought, Jared. I know you would! I miss Velvet, my silly blue goofball. Skye cant carry the burden of producing eggs all the way through her molt, so eventually, I expect she'll stop laying completely. So, I'm taking pressure off myself by just telling everyone that it will be spring or maybe as early as late winter, before I can get them any BBS Orp eggs. I love the pic of Diesel in your avatar. Ah, my grandchick- he's such a stud!

Well, Skye is laying shell-less eggs now, so I hope she will survive this darn molt. So, till she lays good eggs again, if she does, there will be none of hers in any BR hatching egg orders. (walkswithdog, there is one in your order already, though). If I lose Skye, I'd be tempted to sell my Suede. Nah, I'd miss him too much. So sorry for the inconvenience, folks!
