    To My Child:
Just for this morning, I am going to smile when I see your face and laugh when i feel like crying,
just for this morning, I will let you choose what you want to wear, and smile and say how perfect it is.
Just for this morning, I am going to step over the laundry, and pick you up and take you to the park and play.
Just for this morning, I will leave the dishes in the sink, and let you teach me how to put that puzzle of yours together.
Just for this afternoon, I will unplug the the phone and sign off the computer and sit with you in the yard and blow bubbles.
Just for this afternoon, I will not yell once, not even a tiny grumble when you scream for the icecream truck, and I will buy you one
    if he passes by.
Just for this afternoon, I wont even worry about what you are going to be when you grow up, or second guess every decision I have made where you are concerned.
Just for this afternoon, I will let you bake cookies, and I wont even stand over you trying to fix them
Just for this afternoon, I will take you to McDonalds and buy us both a happy meal so you can have both toys.
Just for this evening, I will hold you in my arms and tell you a story about how you were born and how much I love you.
Just for this evening I will let you splash in the tub and not get angry.
Just for this evening I will let you stay up late while we sit on the porch and count all the stars.
Just for this evening, I will snuggle beside you for hours and miss all my favourite TV shows.
Just for this evening when I run my fingers through your hair as you pray, I will simply be grateful that God has given me the greatest gift ever given.
I will think about the mothers and fathers who are searching for their missing children, the mothers and fathers who are visiting their children's graves instead of their bedrooms, and mothers and fathers who are in hospital rooms watching their children suffer endlessly, and screaming inside that they cant take it anymore.
And when I kiss you goodnight, I will hold you a little tighter, a little longer, it is then, that I will thank God for you, and ask him for nothing, except one more day...

That makes me wish...just wish I had a mother like you, that cared so much. I dont think any smily could show how much love went into that letter.

    That is so beautifull.
It brought tears to my eyes, heck it made me cry. It is perfect.
My Dh's niece jumped off the Golden Gate bridge to her death six years ago on Dec 17. She was 14. She was perfect in my eyes. Right next to my own daughter. (not on the bridge. Proudfully, as in my eyes.!)
Your poem expresses the prayers I said for my daughter (now 27)since she was born, and the prayers I've said every day for my stepson (soon to be 16) since I first met him, and my niece Olivia (now 7, she was 2 when her sister committed suicide).
    May I share your poem?
Our local radio station plays any song you want for a fee at this time of year. The money goes to help people in need. Every year since our niece's (Marissa) death, I have requested a song. Using(donating) the money I would have spent on a gift for her...
I would also like to share your poem with other members of my family and friends.
I would like to ask the radio station to read your poem. wIs that OK with you? you can respond to me via email, if you wish.
I will certainly request that you get the credit.
(My ex who I'm still good friends with is a musician/songriter/ guitarbuilder, creative credit is important and needs to go to those who "created")
    Please email me!

that is how mothers and fathers feel about their children.
Obviously your dad does about you. And I would hope you mom does too.
I make my request for a song on our local radio station hoping to reach young people. I want to give them hope and the knowledge that there are people who really care. I don't have to know you.
Just knowing of you, I wish the best for you!
I was born in 1955 in Germany. I encouraged my family to immigrate to the US. I was miserable the first two years here. My adolescence (sp) here was miserable. But something/one kept me going.
There was a strict english teacher and a young, pretty, accepting art teacher....they both saw the value in me and my family.
I have no regrets now! But I wouldn't want another teen to go through what I did!
So dear young one: remember that you really are not alone!
Especially not on this forum. You've got lots of moms, aunts, uncles, etc...
My heart goes out to you!

Its not that my mom didnt love me, she just passed away and I never really knew here for who she was because she was an alcholic from the day I was born. The person I saw before me wasnt who she was just something that made her that way, and sometimes when you get addicted its hard to get back on track, for me its kinda hard because she passed just before I could ask the questions that I couldnt ask anyone else. If I could im sure a could write a 400 page book about my life from when I was born to this day and it would make you grip your book wonder....what will happen next?....and why did she do that.

Its diffucult to explain what really happend without taking 2 hours to type it all.

Oh Please farmer Denise spread the joy,
Im sure who ever wrote this would love to have it shared across the globe too.
You have my blessing to do what ever you like.
My partner also puts music to words, drives me batty sometimes but then I just love to see anyone use their talents wisely.
I would love to see everybody's faces when they read it, it starts off so funny, then very sad, then a sweet ending.
Oh silkelovr, you have been through so much, I can tell, im sending you a big warm hug but you can rest assured that your mum is above you and guiding you all the way with the love she didnt get to show.
Now you are making me cry!!!!
    Hugs sweeties
