We have poisonous toads invading our coop yard. One hen pecked at one and died. This morning I see holes burrowing under the coop. How can I safely remove these toads??? We live in Hawaii
Hi and welcome to BYC, I am not familiar with lethal toads, but they sell toad repellent liquid and granules, try that out.
Do you know what kind of toads they are? I've never heard of anything like that except poison dart frogs.
All toads have poison in the glands behind their heads, not all produce lethal poison. most toads in the U.S. just have sickening poison.
This is an American toad, it mainly inhabits the East coast. the buldging lumps behind his head are the glands. If squeezed exceedingly or put under pressure, the gland will release toxins.
If you want, I can tell you all you want to know about america inhabiting toads. on private on public thread.
