Today is hatching day :D First button hatch of 2011

Sighhhhh today is the day that my buttons hatch. I set the bator on Jan 1 at noon.........so if all goes well today at noon I should see or hear a bunch of little peeps... As of 6am there are two pipped already.... So fingers crossed. Brooder all ready to go

Well, I hate to be the one to tell you. But they can take 8-12 hours sometimes after they pip.
Make some popcorn. My DH swears the sound of that popping sets them popping. I think its my calling like a roo to them. Stirs them up and gets them moving around.

Haha, I hatched out 11.

The power went out for two hours two days before hatch day and they all hatched 2-3 days late. I was quiet glad they hatched!! 11/15 - pretty good I'd say. Two eggs are still in the incubator, but I think they died. They have until tomorrow to hatch, then they're getting thrown out. Good luck on your hatch!
