Many of us worked really hard to make this happen. We spent many hours working together, and we were fortunate that Councilors and city staff people were very helpful.

There were 8 of us who spoke, 6 for, 2 against, plus one city health person and the city staff person who has been working on this issue. It was very informative, and very positive. Even the opposing parties (animal rights folks) had good things to say. I think we all agreed that we really all wanted the same thing and are working towards the same goal.

We all (including the opponents) look forward to continuing our work with each other and the city to craft the best possible bylaw.

The vote was unanimous, by the way.

    Yay Chickens!!!

    AWESOME!!!

Now we just need to convince folks that the sound of a rooster crowing is music to their ears, soothing to the soul... you get the idea.
