I am in the process of building some new coops (yes, SOME!) to house my ever-growing collection. Most of my layers are in their own digs, but some of my breeder pullets are starting to lay. Yesterday, I installed a raised, external nest box on a new coop I'm working on -- it still doesn't even have doors or a roof! and between trips back and forth to the garage for tools and parts, I came back and 3 of the 4 boxes were occupied by pullets! No eggs in the boxes yesterday, but today I was out for a while, and one of the boxes had an egg in it when I came home. Chickens are just TOO funny!
