I hatched coturnix quail for the first time with my kids. We wanted to raise them for eggs. Turns out 5 out of the 6 chicks that hatched are male :( Does anyone know somewhere near Orlando, FL that I could buy 8 week old female quail? I only want 6 but I'm not ready to do the baby chick thing again so soon. Now that they are able to be outaide it is sooo much easier to care for them. Also trying to figure out what to do with my extra males. We raised them from baby chicks so I don't want them killed.

I put my males in their own cage, or cages. They normally learn to get along but sometimes I split the group up into 2 so that someone who is getting pecked on is with a nicer friend. Have you checked craigslist in your area?

Thank you clawstar. I actually just put the males in a cage and I'm headed to a local farm tomorrow to get some females for my other cage. :)
