Too much protein for ducks — effects?

Hey everyone. I’ve not posted in a long time due to losing my beloved duck, Daisy. I hope everyone is well.

I currently have three full grown ducks and nine 2-month-old chickens (8 hens, 1 rooster). I’ve recently added them all together in the same coop, so the feed situation is getting hard to manage.

I feed my ducks a layer feed with about 15-16% protein. However, my chickens get about 20% protein. Would it be okay to feed the ducks the feed with 20% protein until the chickens can eat layer feed (at about 4-5 months). If not, does anyone know any feed that would be suitable for both the ducks and chickens?

Any advice/tips will be greatly appreciated — thank you!

20% protein is not too much for the ducks or chickens.
I presume your ducks are Pekins (?) if yes, you may consider switching to an all flock type feed which will address the Pekin's higher dietary niacin requirements.
If not available in your area simply add a niacin supplement over their feed occasionally. Niacin capsules or nutritional yeast will suffice.
