My chicks will be 2 weeks old tomorrow and some of them are already getting some air when they flap their wings. I decided it was time for them to move out of their watermellon box brooder and gave them the entire coop floor as a brooder. I let them play outside in the run for the first time today while I was getting the coop fixed up and they loved it. I am so glad I decided to brood my chicks outside from day 1 as they seem to be growing fast and are feathering out nicely. I have been unplugging their heat lamp from 12:00 noon until 7:00pm for the past 3 days as I don't think they need it during the day anymore.

After about 3 hours I put them up in their coop minus the water melon box. They were so pooped out from being outside they all promptly fell a sleep...LOL... Chasing bugs and scratching dirt is hard work.
