Top Treats My Ducks Won't Eat

Mine hate green beans.

But they will kill for some peas.

My ducks favorites are watermelons cut in half. They also love left over pumpkins after halloween. They aren't very particular though LOL!

Victor was terrified of night crawlers when we gave him some a couple months ago. I have a video of chasing him in the bathtub with the worm.

Mine just haven't seemed interested in bread, though I've only offered it on a few occasions. It seems that, more often than not, they are not crazy about things I give them. The one thing lately that seems to turn their crank is cherry tomatoes. I'm waiting for my wife to ask where they're all going. :-)

In the summer I gave my ducks some of the extra large tomatoes from the garden. They would hollow them out and put their whole head in there to get out all the tasty bits.

Hey Dave! Arnold lives in an aquarium in the house. He's awesome, super-low maintenance, and he's always building things with his rocks.
Crayfish might make a good duck treat... Ah! Just kidding Arnold!

We used to always catch those as kids (and our parents would cook them - don't tell Arnold). We called them Crawdads - not sure why. That might just be one of the more interesting pets I've heard of in awhile. :-)

Dave that's crazy... I thought it was just down south where kids called crayfish, crawdads... and mudbugs... interesting!
Never could make myself suck out the head *shudder* but I LOVE the tail meat... SOO good, I could see a duck wanting a share.

I'm loving this topic, lots of good ideas (any pics of that tomato hat?) so thanks for that!!
