I'm in the market for a new batch of chicks. I really only need 3, but I plan to buy 6 and get 2 of each breed that I want. I'm looking for RRs, EEs, and a really dark egg layer. I've checked online at several different sites and either the breeds I want aren't available right now, or I have to have a larger order. I'm looking at either a Black Copper Maran, Golden Cuckoo Maran, or a Welsummer for my 3rd breed. My TSC only has RRs and black sex links right now, but I need to see what Atwoods has. So what breeds has everyone found at their farm stores?

I haven't been checking everyday or calling but my TSC has had in the last two weeks Black Sex Link pullets, Leghorn pullets, Barred Rocks sr, Speckled Sussex sr, Red New Hampshires sr, Jersey Giants sr, Red Sex Links, a bin of unknown chicks sr, a bin of meat chickens, and a couple others I can't remember because the bins were empty. They've probably had some other different types I'm sure in between the days I've been to my store. This is my first year seriously buying chicks so I'm not sure what they have carried in the past either.

You can try asking your TSC if they know what will be coming in future shipments - they might, they might not.

We have several TSCs near us and the local one had all RIRs in all the bins, other than the duck bin, last week. Haven't been during this shipment to see what they have.
The other TSC I went to had Barred Rocks, Black sex link, gold sex link, meat birds, buff opringtons and bantams. This week that same store had RIRs, Welsummers, partridge cochins, bantams, meat birds and ducks.
