Start tomorrow!! I need to replace my BO hen since she was stolen from the coop.
Do you recommend waiting a day or two so you dont happen to pick the weak chicks from shipping?

For me personally even when i pick out chicks the day they arrive at the feed store, i watch for a couple minutes and pick the most active :) i watch and see thats its eating , and drinking and running around fine.
Around here if you dont get to the feed store the day they arrive they sell out asap so there isnt any time to wait :)

Newtochicklets gave you good advice. The active chicks are going to be the ones people take FIRST.

What newtochicklets said. I'm going tomorrow to get mine. I'm starting up again, after 11 years of not having chickens. I can't wait, my brooder is all set up with the MHP.. Just need to add chicks!

You have been given great advice by other members, I just can't believe its that time of year! I have to call my local TSC to see what breeds that received.....
