Went to TSC last week and picked up 6 chicks that where supposed to be Silver Laced Wyandotte's....well their not. Please help me figure out what these little babies are. They have chocolate brown, white, black, tan colors in them. I saw a thread where someone posted and said that their chicks may be Speckled Sussex. Any suggestions? [IMG]

Speckle Sussex most likely. Chance they could be a Welsummer or Brown leghorn.

The legs are beige/pink so most likely they are Speckled Sussex. Brown Leghorns and Welsummers SHOULD have yellow legs...but as we all know, feed store/hatchery quality chicks often don't quite follow breed standards.

You'll know soon...the SS will start getting those dots throughout their feathers when they come in.

Cute chicks. Good luck with them.

X3 on the probably Speckled Sussex, maybe Welsummer, SS seems like a popular breed in TSC the last year for some reason... good luck with the little guys.
