This is a list of what I set in the Hova Bator (1602 w/ 1611 Auto-Turner) on 10/30/10:

12 Organic Free Range "Fertile" Brown Eggs

1 Random AAA Grade White Egg

2 Organic Free Range Brown Eggs

Hooray! This will be my first hatch wish me luck!

How so very cool! I'm going to get and set some TJ eggs to set on Dec 11th, for a New Year's Day hatch. I'll be following this thread closely!

    Good luck! [IMG]

Why are you going to the store to buy eggs instead of from someone selling eggs from their farm? I figure if you go pick them up, you would know what types chickens they have and you could possibly go to different places to get the type breed you want. Unless it's more fun waiting to see what is hatching. It's just a thought, I see fresh eggs for sale on CL for $2-$3 a dozen.

Quote:Well, this is my first time using this 'bator as well as my first time hatching. These are pretty much test eggs to use before getting "real" hatching eggs from a "real" source (looking at getting some BCM eggs off eBay afterwards if all goes well).

    Update: (Day 4)

I candled them yesterday (day 3) and saw no veins or any signs of development. This isn't particularly alarming seeing that its still kinda early. Right?

I want to do this just as an experiment. It just tickles me, that others have had success, and I want to see if I can do it too. But I'll be setting mine on 12/11 to have a NY Day 2011 hatch.
