Been a member for a year now got my first flock of SLWyanndottes at feed store in April they are now almost a year old ended up with 2roos out of 6 chicks after doing some research on breed reallized that a single comb is a recessive gene in the breed so I enjoyed thst roo for dinner one night after seeing the two ROOS FIGHTING so I'm left with the other roo which seems to be appearance wise to spec with the breed.I have no doubt that he come from a strong breed.I also believe that his parents were the same as the hens.well to get to the point I'm looking to expand my flock by ten but I would like to keep just this breed exclusively.Would I come up with a stronger hatch or bloodline by going with a different roo of the same breed? And is it safe to exchange roos of established flocks for breeding purposes after the quarintine period? What is the best way to go about this?
