Tried to sell my 5 week old cuckoo maran - thing as a cockerel, I get told it's a hen...?

Is this a pure breed cuckoo maran?
(There were hundreds of pure breed chickens and cockerels running around together, so it's very possible is pure)

Secondly, whatever it is, is it a boy or a girl? Little pink wattle showing, but when I googled 5 week old cockerel, their comb was a lot bigger than mine...

I responded to a local ad for some one looking for a very young cockerel preferably a cuckoo maran/cross. I get all excited and email him with photos, and he tells me he's a she...never had that problem before..

I'm pretty certain that "it" is a pullet. Males are usually lighter in color.

Looks like a girl to me. Yellow legs indicate that it is not a purebred Cuckoo Marans.

Yeh I got that feeling too, but then the cross breeding can make it very unclear.
I have on either cockerel for sure, called Brian, and he doesn't fight with anyone, hardly anyone even play fights, which suggests to me he hasn't found anyone compatible enough, masculine wise..

Argh! I'm having so much chicken sexing/breed trouble at the moment! Haha, all good fun though I guess

I agree with the others. It is a pullet, but the yellow legs indicate that it is not a pureblood Maran.

It's all starting to make sense now! So this must be the one that hatched out the blue egg in my incubator!
So that makes her a Cream legbar x cuckoo Marans! Hence the yellow legs
