So in our quest to continue building up our TinyFarm, we've come to the conclusion that we really do need a truck. It just doesn't make sense to rent one every time we need to move big stuff. But we have almost no experience with trucks, so I'm hoping maybe some of you might have personal experience you'd please share?

We're looking for:
- a smallish truck
- must have 4x4
- as reliable as possible, cheap to maintain/fix
- conceivably could be bought for $2k or less (in the Midwest)

I know there's probably no magic truck out there with my name on it, but any recommendations for good, cheap old trucks would be very much appreciated

I would say a Ford Bronco, but because they're a tad older they probably wouldn't be as reliable.

x2....... they made a bajillion of them and last one owned had 320k miles on it.. it was literally rusting apart faster then we were wearing out the engine at that point.

A Ford Bronco isn't a pickup truck? I'm pretty sure it's an enclosed body, SUV type.

I've had 2 Ford Rangers, both have been hard working and reliable.
