Hello, could anyone tell me what breed these chicks are? Some have feathered feet and some have clean legs. Thank you! Edit* these are bantam chicks. [IMG]

    Hi, welcome to BYC! [IMG]

The feathered could be Cochin, Brahma, Marans, Silkie...

It doesn't look crested so I will say not silkie. But the dark beak and legs is what makes me include Marans and Silkie, even though I don't think that's it. Also, Silkies have 5 toes.

Brahma will have a pea comb and Cochin will be straight... but sometimes it's hard to tell what the comb will be this young.

Come to think of it Faverolle is also a possibility. But it's the shank and beak color that don't add up for me. I guess there could be varieties I am unfamiliar with though. Faverolles will also have 5 toes.

    Sorry I'm not more help...

But you should get plenty more input still. [IMG]

I actually had my suspicion about them being bantam... and was gonna ask if you noticed a size difference in them.

TSC has had a lot of mix up this season. [IMG]

If you called and asked which hatchery they got their shipment from... we usually go to the hatchery site and see what chicks they offer. Helps to narrow to your options. Does that chick have 5 toes?

They don't appear to have the top hat quite that make me instantly say silkie. But the one from MPC look quite similar although the legs appear much heavier feathered.

[IMG] Where as what I'm used to seeing is more like the following one.

Well, it will be fun to see them grow up. Sometimes not knowing for sure is part of the fun. [IMG]
