Hi all,
one of our turkey hens was taken by a predator this morning. She was sitting on a clutch, but we are not sure how long she has been incubating yet. We transferred the eggs into an incubator in the hope to at least rescue the chicks. Is there anyway to determine how far along the eggs are? We are curious because eventually we should stop turning them and increase the humidity.
Thanks for any advice, MT

I'm sorry to hear about your loss. I would suggest candling the eggs to check how far they've developed. Turkeys hatch after 28 days, so you'll need to lockdown on day 25. There are some candling pics here, I see one of a turkey egg on day 24:

And here are the chicken egg candling pics also to give you an idea:

If you are unsure about what you're seeing in there try and take pics when you candle and post them in the Turkeys section. I'm sure someone there will be able to advice you!

Best of luck!
