turkey has a soft like pouch at the base of its neck???

Good afternoon all, we have turkeys. One of them has a soft like pouch at the base of its next/top of chest. Any ideas? It is still eating and drinking. Noticed to 2 days ago. Seemed to be going sown, but now bigger again. Looks like water under the skin. TIA for all your help.

That is its crop. It is normal for the size to increase as it eats and to decrease as the food moves on through its digestive system.

Yes, it is smaller in the morning and larger at night. I have 6 turkeys and this is the only one like that. Thanks all.

Can you catch the turkey and tell us what it feels like? As in is it full of water or full of food?

looks and feels like water. does not appear to be painful.

Okay. It's possible that your turkey has something called pendulous crop.

How close to butchering is this turkey?
