My turkeys are starting to do this weird standing with their tail and feathers down looking as if they’re trying to lay an egg, my question is when will they lay one? I’m very new with turkeys so I’m still learning a lot about them.

Turkey hens usually start laying eggs in the spring of the year after the year they were hatched. They are seasonal layers and do not lay year round.

Is it when its hot out are they panting also? Turkeys will stand with tail and wings down when they are trying to cool down.
