I am raising 2 turkeys for Thanksgiving. BBW and they are about 13 weeks old now. I will butcher them when they are 18 weeks. I am nervous about the meat tasting good. Should I be adding fruits and veggies to their diets? Right now they are on a high protien all natural feed, but is that good enough? Also if I butcher on a Sunday, can the bird go straigh into a brine until Thursday morning? The last chicken I butchered didnt rest long enough and was chewy. Thanks!
