What is the average lifespan of a heritage type turkey? Somebody said 2 years but I find that hard to believe. If they are in a good environment and are healthy, wouldn't they live quite a while longer than that?

    thanks.

They can live way way longer than 2 years, I have no idea where people got that idea. With good care they can live 10+

Right now we have about 200+ Royal Palms, Beltsville whites, Midget whites, Bourbon red, standard Bronze and White Holland. We normally refresh our flocks every 2 years but we have a couple old breeders that have a "special place" so they have been just put out to pasture.
